About

I’ve always loved stories.

As a child, I was captivated by Batman, Green Hornet, Happy Days and Good Times.

Then I found out that the greatest theatre was my imagination. Books began to take me places that my black and white tv couldn’t. I’ve been enthralled by authors writing on the human experience and pushing the boundaries of possibilities.

I guess that why story telling has been such a big part of sharing my heart with people.

In 1973, I was 14 years old. I young enough to think I was an adult and young enough to still want an allowance. I knew something was wrong. Something was missing. My mom shared hope with me when she told me about her experience with Jesus Christ. Initially I smiled and dismissed her latest fad. Before that summer was over I invited Christ into my heart. I was changed. Not perfect, but ushered into a world of forgiveness and divine connection. I immediately developed a love for God’s word. During high school I lead an after school Bible Study. While attending Moody Bible Institute I preached at Cook County Jail in Chicago for 3 years. I also did one to one ministry at the Chicago juvenile detention center. I’ve been preaching since 1978.

As a child I dabbled in music. But the summer I came to Christ I found my voice. I sang in the choir and did some solos. I’ve led praise and worship throughout America and in Africa.

I’ve served as a youth pastor for 10 years in Chicago and Joliet, IL

I’ve also pastored New Life Baptist Church in Chicago Heights for 11 years.

During the ‘90s I provided substance abuse counseling to youth and adults.

I believe the ultimate addiction is sin and the ultimate cure is the cross.

I graduated from Moody Bible Institute and Trinity International University before Fred Flintstone met Wilma.

I currently host of 2 national Moody Radio programs: Celebration of Praise and Music for Sunday. I also served as the originator and host of Urban Praise Radio.

I served as the station manager of Moody Radio Chicago, 90.1fm for four years.

I currently serves as the Community Relations Director at Moody Bible Institute.

I have been married to Lynette for over 30 years and have 3 adult children. I also have 3 amazing grandchildren.

This is just a little bit of my story. Can’t wait to share more…
